I'm dying to know how the Facebook release went--I signed in to a friend's acct to watch. I'm probably not the target demographic for this though--hardcore cinephile--I still go to theatres and am thrilled when indies get screens. I never rent movies, I buy them. So I'll buy the DVD of WANNABE, which needs to be seen in a crowd, because I'm old school. But also because my fear of onliners is that community thing that makes a filmgoing experience special would get lost if we are all isolated, watching films on our computers or god forbid, our tiny phones. Having said that ["Will you not be a little bitch the first three minutes you walk in the door?"] as a pre-motion for a DVD or theatrical release, as a sneak premiere or to create a buzz, I hope this exceeds your expectations, recoups your budget (!) and leads to a sequel. Or better yet, the dream tv series you deserve.

While I could mention every single performer by name as a standout (because they really were) the combination of script, cast and incredible improv skills really produced some classic bits! And literally everybody had at least one hilariously memorable line and scene.

Can't talk about WANNABE without particular kudos to its remarkable star (also this is Craig's blog.) "Steve", what a fantastic “everyman” character--sweet, innocent, funny, frustrated...and he broke my heart several times. From the earnestness with which he defended his loopy role in Gunner's ‘Heir of the Dog’; calling Mum for his trophy from the storage locker; fending off advances from the coked up actor by declaring he wore underpants, to his charmingly fucked-up aphorisms (“He who stays in last, laughs last.")--Craig you are priceless and your British humour shines through everywhere. There has to be a sequel if only to get that HBOish sex scene for you!

I love the moc-doc style and you guys (you too Richard Keith!) just plain got it right. Personally, I'm also hoping for Andy & Chaz...
Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07258702731258605816noreply@blogger.com
